Load Custom 3D LUTs to Recreate Film Looks!
Some cameras can output logarithmic colorspace to preserve the dynamic range, which is great for later post production, however when these files are viewed on a monitor they can look flat and washed out. 3D LUTs solve this problem because they allow you to apply a "look" to the monitor so you get an idea of how the finished images will look like when editing. For those who don't know, getting an external monitor allows you to record in a lot higher quality than your camera can alone. Cameras are generally built for still shots but are capable of shooting video, these external recorders work through your camera to record high quality videos. The Andycine is light and has awesome brightness so you don't need a hood for the most part. The UI is decent but I really like how they throw in a mount with it.Pros- Great intro monitor- Lightweight- Ultra bright- Good quality recording- Comes with a mountCons- UI takes some time getting used too- Adds weight to your camera setup

This is a really good monitor for people who work outside. I shoot a lot of golf and I can see this monitor very clearly. It shows you what your colors are and is good value for the money. I’d recommend this monitor to anyone.

Use this to film over 100 hours of footage and it still going strong! I can’t speak to durability because I haven’t taken it out in the field (I’ve just used it in my studio) but the resolution, brightness, and features are all as described! Makes it MUCH easier to see what I’m recording.

This is a great monitor if you don't have the money for an Atmos. I filmed outside with no clouds in 85 degree weather at noon and was able to see my client clearly. I haven't loaded any LUTS to it because I have a LUT on the BMPCC4K. Battery life with an NP-F970 can last about 5-8 hours. If you put two on then it could easily last 10-15 hours. I don't really like the auto sensor for light but you can still turn up the brightness. It is very light and the only weight will come from the battery. It has two spaces for HDMI's and two battery slots. You can also run power to or from it. I recommend not doing that with the BMPCC4K as others have stated that the variability in the output/input could potentially damage your camera. So I would have one battery to power the monitor and one for the camera. Overall a great starter monitor.

Wish I had know about these before, I took some great shots outside in full sun in fresh blinding snow. I could see the screen no problem. Now I don't want to use my camera without it. No video just action shots and stills. On a Canon Eos R.

This was exactly what I needed for my Sony A7III. I wanted a screen for my clients to see themselves in front of them, versus having to come around to the camera. The only thing is that it will not show the preview pic in the camera and monitor at the same time. You'll have to unplug the monitor in order for it to show as a preview. But prior to taking the picture, it shows on both screens! Amazing screen regardless and very bright!!!

The monitor comes with an L-bracket which has a cold-shoe mount so can mount directly onto your camera, but bare in mind that whilst the monitor isn't overly heavy, it does become weighty when used with batteries, so would advise a suitable camera cage should you be moving around whilst filming to relieve any stress on the camera. I've only been using this whilst static (camera on tripod) so I have no need for a cage.Once mounted, it's literally "Plug in

Great for outdoors shooting with direct sunlight.I purchased this monitor because I wanted a very bright monitor for outdoors shooting that supports LUTs at an affordable price, as other monitors with such brightness are way more expensive. The monitor is excellent for this job. The 2200 nit it gets are enough to shoot under direct sunlight with no hood.Quality of the panel is very good. It has nice colors and contrast, with settings to adjust saturation, hue, temperature, etc.The touchscreen is very responsive with no lag and you can use it to get quick shortcuts right from the screen, such as adjust brightness and volume and get to the main menu. There's a great variety of monitoring tools to use, all placed in a nice menu. Loading the LUTs you use is done through SD cards (you must format it at FAT32).It has three buttons on the top which can be assigned with various shortcuts. Great usefulness while shooting and you don't want to waste time.Construction and build quality is very good for the price, but you should be careful not to drop it since it has a plastic body. The tilt/swivel arm is very helpful for adjusting the monitor to the angle you want with one hand. Also, it comes with all types of HDMI in the package, so you won't need to buy a new one. Some other features: the twin batteries are hot swappable, it has a sensor for auto adjusting the brightness, you can passthrough the HDMI signal, and it has an indicator for the battery capacity (which is quite rare). The biggest con is that it gets quite hot when the brightness is set to high levels. After 2 months of using it I am very satisfied with the product. It's a great value for it's price, and using it during a shooting is a great experience since it's a very practical tool. Outdoors shooting in the sunlight is no longer a problem.

Not only does the size make it easier/beneficial to view what you're shooting, but the brightness levels is superior; there's a reason why this one doesn't need to throw in any cheap sunshades in the package. This also has better packaging with extra battery and everything ready to go for you.And it's touch screen so you can pinch zoom. You have your zebra, focus assists, and what I love is the anamorphic framing options.

I mainly wanted this monitor to have something to use for framing/exposure while I'm filming myself with my Sony A7III. My camera doesn't have a flip screen, so it's difficult to check for focus while you're filming and composing. The touch screen is super responsive. It reminds me of my iPhone. Also being able to swipe up from the bottom to activate a menu is a neat feature. This monitor is way sharper than the back of my camera using the 4k input to the display. The A7III is known for not having the best resolution on its screen and EVF, but the C7 helps out so much when it comes to checking focus.I love the 180 degree swivel feature. It allows for filming from both in front and behind the camera. There is a function in the camera to flip the display vertically so everything is right way around when in front of the camera. The main reason I went with this monitor is because I live in Alaska and the winters can be super bright with everything being covered with snow. This handles the bright sun very well!

I live at the beach in Florida where the Sun is bright so I need a monitor with a lot of NITS, and with 2200 nits nothing beats the C7

Andycine has gone out of their way to make a truly spectacular monitor add for camera shoots! It is high-quality material, and yet lightweight enough to be almost unnoticeable when you put it on as an add to your gear. It really adds another layer to your shoot when you add a larger monitor! The brightness and intensity of the screen image means you can shoot pretty much any time of the day without having to shade the screen at all.It has a lot of bells and without that add value to this monitor as well. Besides the inclusion of an SD slot, it has both the touchscreen *and* programmable buttons, so you can work and use it in whatever way works best for you. I end up using both, dependent on what and how I am shooting!

Thanks to the addition of an IPS panel display with 2,200 nits of brightness this monitor is ideal for use outdoors, even in bright sunshine. It's excellent value for money, especially if all you need a monitor for is to check composition and focus.Andycine have stepped up their game now with the new C7 monitor, offering a touchscreen UI, parade waveform, vectorscope, and 3D LUT support. It’s a 1920×1200 resolution screen with a 16:10 aspect ratio, but will accept 4K signals and offers 4K HDMI passthrough via standard size HDMI connectors.Custom LUTs can be loaded through SD cards via an SD card slot built into the monitor. The 2,200 nit IPS panel built into the C7 is also a touchscreen display, featuring a couple of “virtual sliders” for quickly adjusting the brightness and volume of the monitor, as well as on-screen menus to change settings. When it comes to assist features, as well as the usual histogram, focus peaking, zebra stripes, false colour, and so on, the C7 also offers parade waveform and vectorscope display. A big advantage over their entry-level monitors. The C7 also offers some power advantages. On the back are a pair of slots for Sony NP-F style batteries. You don’t need to have two batteries plugged into the camera at once, though. The monitor first uses one battery slot, and then the other, meaning you can hot-swap batteries as you work to prevent a loss in power. This can be quite important as the monitor also has a DC output jack for powering your camera or other devices.

After unboxing the monitor and rigging it up to my GH5 I could immediately see the upgrade from my A6. Not only is the screen nice and bright producing an excellent image in both daylight or a well lit room, but the operating system with the touch screen control is just a dream, especially for a monitor at this price! The ease of scrolling through menus and settings is just a breeze, to get to the menus you just need to double tap or swipe up! It also has 3 customisable function buttons which can be selected to provide a short cut to an option of settings including, false colour, focus assist, waveforms, vector scopes, histogram and zebras, just to name a few. The monitor has so many settings to assist me in my workflow, being able to navigate to settings to check exposure or RGB parade quickly, saves me more time in post by getting them right in camera. I really like the safety marker and marker mat options of 2.25:1 and 1.85:more and the large screen of 7 inches is also a benefit and creates more confidence in my focus pulls, as well as getting a better view from around my studio.Having the option of loading up to 50 LUT’s via the SD card port is another pro feature I really like. It's easy to scroll through and check what the grade might look like later on. The monitor also has HMDI in/out for easy connection to a camera or secondary monitor. The C7 also has a headphone jack input, great for monitoring your audio which can also be controlled via the touch screen. The resolution of 1920x1200 is great and the C7 will take a signal of up to 4K 24p although I had no problems with 4k 50p! The monitor takes 2 batteries either NP-F970 or F550 and 2x F970’s gave me several hours of power without running out, plus for longer periods you have the added benefit of using the DC in. The C7 also has an 8v DC out, being able to add power to my camera via the Andy Cine dummy battery to give me extended periods of camera use without changing the battery.Well done Andy Cine!!

I have been looking for a bigger monitor than my 5”.I must say, the 7” monitor from Andycine C7 is a monster with a very sharp and bright screen up to 2200nits. With 2200nits I can easily see everything on my monitor. It has a touch function, which works great with a lot of different functions like: different scopes, vectors, graphs, false color, grids etc.You can power it with the most versatile batteries in the small creator film industri. It has input and output both for HDMI and power, which means you can power other devices and send a video signal to another monitor.I will be looking forward continue using this monitor in my studio. The swivel arm is the best I have ever tried, because it holds its position.

I have recently been doing more outdoor productions, so I needed a monitor that would provide enough brightness to be seen clearly by customers, even in bright sunlight. This monitor definitely met my expectations regarding this, with 2200nit. The 4K resolution is also great. The touch screen enables you to easily adjust the volume and brightness settings and the menu is really easy to navigate. The NP-F970 battery enables you to use the monitor in a mobile way, so you can move with the monitor and adjust the focus.I wouldn’t recommend using this monitor if you have a very small DSLR camera, as it is slightly too large for this.I would say the audio is standard. Not bad but not the best out there. The audio output is normal, nothing to comment, the quality is considered standard.Regarding the waveform, I liked the RGB monitoring and the histogram but I have noticed that the brightness is slightly strong (compared to my Canon cameras). Therefore, I would recommend calibrating your camera with the monitor before adjusting the exposure during production.Last but not least, what has helped my workflow a lot is the ability to upload the LUTs directly to the monitor. Since I’ve have this, I’ve been able to preview how my video will look in post-production.

Since I started in the film production, I wanted to add a monitor to my equipment list to give more value to my production and clients.Using a transmitter and two NP-F970 batteries I can use the monitor from the distance where a pull focus assistant, director or your client could watch what is happening and what the camera is filming at the moment. I don’t see myself using it on top of my DSLR camera as the size makes a bit difficult to do camera movements. But for interviews or remote transmission, it will be helpful.Shooting outdoors is not an issue as it can use full brightness with both batteries, and if it runs out of battery, I can swap it, and it will still work with one battery. With the focus assistant option and the size of the monitor is difficult to miss the focus on the subject. For a cinematic and other aspect ratio options, I can choose which one I want to use, and it will make black bars allowing me to adjust the frame. One power supply input for the monitor and one output to charge the camera that is helpful in cases we are running out of battery. The HDMI output makes it easier to connect to another device for stream or even another monitor, and the last is the headphones output where allow us to monitor the audio quality while filming. Also, I can upload my LUTs and see how it will look in post-production and adjust the camera settings right for it.I could notice where I was shooting I have to adjust the brightness of the monitor to match with the exposure as it could be under or overexpose.

I have used a ton of monitors including products from SmallHD, Atomos, and others. This particular monitor offers features not found on others in this price range. First, let's talk about the build quality. It's made of a polycarbonate plastic material that makes it light weight which means strapping this 7" monitor to a camera like the A73 is possible without adding a ton of unnecessary weight. It's suitable for gimbals and shoulder rigs as well. There are plenty of physical buttons including a few customizable ones if you do not want to use the touchscreen at any time. For example, I like to disable the touch screen when out in the field to avoid smudges and smears. They interfere with the visibility and light reflectivity when in direct sunlight. So, having the option to go touch-less means less wiping down my monitor which ultimately means I have less of a chance scratching my display. Speaking of the display, it's a great. It has a crystal clean image, with pretty accurate colors, and great peak brightness. It's a pretty reflective display but it gets bright enough that it shouldn't be a problem in most scenarios. The touch OS Andycine is using is great and super intuitive. It also offers tons of customization for quickly accessing modes and settings on the fly. The modes I typically use in every shoot are false color, zebras, 1:1 zoom, focus peaking, and I also add the horizontal and vertical flip options to the quick access bar. This is because this particular monitor comes with a nice mount with a cold shoe attached to it. It allows you to quickly flip the monitor from front to back in case you're filming yourself. Having the vertical and horizontal flip options in the quick access menu allows me to ensure I'm also in correct orientation. There is also audio controls built right into the monitor which is great for cameras that don't have headphone jacks. It takes Sony L style batteries which can be picked up super cheap however it does have 1 in the box along with a charger and a travel case. I've used AndyCine monitors in the past and what I love about them is how much value they bring. They always include tons of additional accessories giving you the ability to pull a monitor out of the box and use it right away which is nice. This is the same case with this particular monitor. If you're in the market for a great 7" monitor that's for the most part day light visible and you don't want to spend a fortune, make sure to check out this one.

I wanted a bigger alternative for me Andycine A6 for tripod work and especially shooting outside. I gave C7 a go, and was not dissappointed:C7 offers features (touch controls, wide variety of colors meters etc) unlike any other monitor in this price group. Color accuracy is good, you even get colorscopes to make sure that your skin tones are illuminated and colored precisely. Anamorphic modes included. The screen brightness is wonderful: I took pictures of the monitor in the worst and most unpresentative surroundings possible: sun blazing behind your back around midday, and still had no problems seeing what's happening even without a hood! You can see that my BMPCC4K:s own screen is almost unusably dark in that environment but had no problems seeing what happens on C7:s big screen. Will absolutely recommend for: tripod or shoulder rig shoots, stream monitoring, focus puller or directors screenPros:-Touch controls-Color scopes and metrics-Screen brightness-Surprisingly efficient battery life for a screen this bright and bigPro/con-This is not a screen for hand held shooting -> shoulder rig definitely recommended (stick with 5" in HH)Cons-A little bit plasticy but still feels durable and high quality

I'm very surprised with the quality and especially performance of Andycine C7 monitor. It is big and bright. First of all the image it produces is crisp and bright. Size of display allows to turn on parades, vector-scope plus histogram and still comfortably frame your shots. The picture in the monitor is very clear and bright. Pictures above were taken in harsh sunlight and you can see the difference between Andycine C7 monitor and EOS R built in display (which is one of the best you can get on DSLR/mirrorless cameras market). C7 is just 4-5 F-stops brighter. Built quality is OK, monitor is light. Attaching it to gimbal is easy and does not double the weight fo the rig. 3 programmable function buttons are a great feature and make life easy. OSD is easy to use, touch screen is responsive and fast. Video features like zebras, false colors, focus assist are similar to A6 plus, work great and allows to really precisely expose and sharpen your image.Overall I'm very happy with this purchase and can recommend it to anyone.
