what would make this monitor (SDI HDMI version) almost perfect? a built-in waveform. not sure why a histogram is the only option. otherwise, yes, this screen is incredibly bright and the case feels robust. bought to replace a very old Marshall monitor and having a battery life readout is blissful!
I have a camera that I use to take photos mostly outdoor, but as you can see, the screen is small and dark. Not ideal if you like to check your work right away for any flaws. So I was looking at options for portable monitor which could be used for that exact purpose. My criteria for the monitor was resolution, brightness, and size. Although bigger the better, a standard photo print size is more applicable IMO.I decided to give X7 a shot, and boy I am in love with my new gadget. The first reaction I got when I turn on the screen was "Geez that's bright." Then I had to lower the brightness by more than 50 indoor to protect my eyes haha. When I was testing it outdoor on a sunny day, I find it very comfortable to look at with 80 to 90 brightness. The 4K screen beats the little crappy screen on the camera hands down. Also, I have noticed the screen is non-glare, I can comfortably see the pictures without shielding the screen, like I always had to with any camera, even my iPhone.Very satisfied with it so far. I would update if I find anything else worth sharing! :)
In my opinion the best monitor money can buy, resolution is great and so sharp. But you have to consider to get the mount and battery separately
The Andycine X7S is a great entry level professional monitor!Having SDI makes this a valuable monitor. If you know you’ll eventually get a camera that has SDI, spending the extra $ will be well invested.I use a small hd monitor on a daily basis. the main difference I can make is the matte finish. The small hd looks more crisp, because of the glossy display. That’s more of a personal preference. The one battery slot means you don’t get as much battery life compared to twoThe metal construction is nice and feels like it can take a few knocks. But I’ve also noticed this monitor gets warm to the touch after 30 minutes to an hour after being on.Would like to see an improvement in build especially keeping it cooler. Perhaps a rubberized grip would provide better ergonomics.
I was looking for something that would be a larger display for my Canon c200. Because some important features like LUTs and Waveform are only carried over the SDI signal and not the HDMI, I chose this monitor. It has great features like false color and waveforms despite being very light and manageable. Image is more than bright enough to see in full sun. Good purchase.
I work as a professional a Cinematographer and occasional camera operator. This monitor is truly ultra bright. I had used the HDMI version in the New Mexico noon day sun with absolutely no issues. It outperformed a monitor triple its cost.I loved it so much I bought the SDI version. Sure, no touchscreen but value and performance is unmatched if you need an ultra bright field monitor. I ordered a nice monitor cage (60.00) and now have multiple 1/4 all over the cage.
Very easy to use, love this monitor
