I absolutely HATE using the apps for my cameras because they are so slow and buggy (both Canon and Sony).I also hate using external monitors, because you can't control the camera from them. This is the perfect solution, and is such a great price. This lets you monitor your camera with your phone AND control the basic functions at the same time with no bugs or lag like the mobile apps give you. It's exactly what I needed. It works perfectly on my 5D Mark IV and my M50, allowing me to control the aperture, ISO, and shutter speed.Once I'm set up, all I want to do is be able to change the ISO and hit record, and this is perfect.Plug in the HDMI and proper USB cable, and then to set it up, you turn it on, then connect to the "Benbox" wifi signal. Open the Inkee app and hit play, and you're rolling.
It is the best option for a wireless video transmitter with low budget. Connects very quickly, I tested both on android and windows, 2 devices at the same time, it works very well. it has a little delay a few miles seconds, it is acceptable.
If you’re an Indy or freelancer filmmaker, you need to invest in the Benbox immediately. This has been one of the most useful and helpful tools I’ve ever purchased for video production. I took some photos from the test at home and I was able to use on a commercial recently so let me break down the pros and cons.Pros:-Well built all metal construction (it’s a little tank)-Easy to connect to devices (phone, computer, tablet up to 3)-reliable up to 250ft then delay picks up.-Very useful for directors monitor or clients monitor. You will seriously impress clients with this feature.- latency is minimal and great for setting focus and watching action/marks. I think this is a pro considering you can spend an easy $500 on one with worse latency.-super long batteryCons:- time to time the app will skip a beat. It’s maybe once every 10 mins and mainly happens if there is an obstruction like being on the opposite side of the camera. It’s a non issue.- for super high end clients (Nike, Apple) I would rent a proper directors monitor and transmitter. If you’re at that level you’re probably not shopping for this. I jump in and out of big clients and can totally use this on lower budget commercials.
impressively low latency for a product at this price point! It very well built with all metal construction, the small size and weight also makes mounting this thing on my BMPCC rig very easy and convenient. Would 100% recommend for someone who is on a budget and needs a second view of monitor for clients or director on set!
This Benbox Inkee works great! I have it connected to my Sony A7iii and after installing the app on my phone and computer I am able to use them both as a monitor for my camera. I have struggled to find affordable options for a transmitter for a long time so this is a awesome bargain. I would highly recommend this device for anyone in need of a transmitter at a budget price.
